So, how’s everyone dew-ing??? I’ve been taking more walks outside lately and it’s so nice even tho I’m melting lol. That’s why it’s also been important to reapply my sunscreen and bring it everywhere!

I’ll call myself out here: I commit a skincare sin here and there. That has to be not reapplying SPF consistently. They always say to layer on SPF throughout the day, but I am just so darn lazy. I also wear makeup, so how can I use SPF without worrying about my makeup smudging? That’s where Benton Cosmetics comes in to save the day and my skin.

I was given the Air Fit UV Defense Sun Cream by Benton Cosmetics and Picky (@go.picky @pickyrewards) in exchange for my honest review. This product was used for two to three weeks in my daytime skincare regimen to come up with my opinions. Also, I was not obligated to create a blog post for this product. It is being documented on my website for people who do their research on skincare products before purchasing. So, enjoy!

Stay Cool While Staying Hot Under the Sun

Benton’s Air Fit UV Defense Sun Cream is available at $19.68 USD for 50 mL on Stylevana. This is a vegan sun screen with SPF 50+/PA++++ and formulated with centella asiatica and botanical extracts to moisturize and cool your skin. Since this sunscreen is PA++++, this means it has UV filters that can keep your skin protected for longer periods of time.

Unlike other sunscreens, Benton’s sun cream seems to be friendly for all skin tones due to its green color. Here are some listed ingredients in this sunscreen that make it a great choice for you:

• Propanediol: Propanediol is a humectant that draws in moisture from the outside and helps slow down water retention. It also has emollient properties that can help smoothen out skin texture and make it feel nice and soft.
• Niacinamide: Niacinamide is a popular ingredient in skincare products because it can help even out texture and even out your skin tone by fighting discoloration (blemishes, dark spots, and so on).
• Centella Asiatica Extract: Centella asiatica is a must-have for dry skin and acne-prone skin types because of its soothing and antibacterial properties. The ingredient also can help fight discoloration by healing and minimizing the appearance of blemishes.
• Melia Azadirachta (Chinaberry or Miracle Berry): Benton uses the leaf extract and the flower extract for this sun cream. This fruit has antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-septic properties to it and has been used in India for medicinal purposes.
• Panthenol: Panthenol is a humectant that draws in and holds moisture so that your skin doesn’t look dull and dehydrated, which can cause breakouts and pimples.
• Tocopherol: Tocopherol contains vitamin B5 which is great for your skin’s nourishment and maintaining that plump, glistening sheen to your skin.
• Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil: Rosemary is perfect for acne-prone skin because it fights inflammation and infection-causing bacteria that can wreak havoc on your skin.

Sun Cream is a Summer Dream

Easy-to-Use Packaging

Love the packaging since it keeps the product sealed and protected from hot weather. The product is easy to open and close with the secure twist lid. Holding the tube, I was surprised that it actually felt cool on the outside! I can imagine myself reapplying my SPF with this because the ice cold sensation can provide much-needed relief in sweaty situations.

Minty Fresh

The sun cream itself is a mint green, watery cream that is lightweight. The smell is a strong rosemary scent that reminds me more of centella, mint and cilantro because of the strong notes, which I personally like! It reminds me a lot of going to a spa because it makes me feel relaxed.

Because of the use of rosemary oil and centella asiatica in this product, I don’t think it would be a great option for applying on top of open skin (like skin that is irritated from shaving) or skin that is very much sunburnt.

No White Cast

The sun cream blends like a dream from green to clear! It took me at most twenty seconds to blend the sun cream into my face, neck, and decolletage area. I was so impressed at how easily it absorbed into my skin. I have a light medium skin tone, so there are times when I have trouble hiding the white cast from sunscreen. Fortunately, there was no white cast at all.

Super Soothing

The cream reduced my redness because it gives an instant cooling effect upon application. This cooling sensation is usually occurring for centella asiatica-heavy products, making this oh-so perfect fo the summertime. I think this cool sensation fades away maybe after 5-10 minutes when the product dries down.

Because of the use of rosemary oil and centella asiatica in this product, I don’t think it would be a great option for applying on top of open skin (like skin that is irritated from shaving) or skin that is very much sunburnt.

Perfect Skin is Possible

The product left my skin looking super dewy, but this dewiness does turn into a slightly tacky finish when dried. This can make it a good makeup primer, or you can just leave it alone as a moisturizer that seals your skin from environmental stressors. My skin never broke out from using this formula and I even received some compliments on how nice my skin was.

Only Caveat for Some People

Not a con for me, but the rosemary scent slightly slightly remains after drying. This is just a note for those who don’t enjoy eucalyptus/cilantro/minty scents or have a sensitive nose.

Would I repurchase?

Yes! Benton created a really nice sun cream since it literally takes seconds to blend with no white cast. My skin gets red easily, and this was a godsend of a product to try since I get red easily in the summer. The formula is sensitive and dry skin-friendly, but maybe not for people who dislike scented skincare. All skin types will probably have a pleasant experience with this sunscreen.

If you don’t reapply your sunscreen, you have no excuses now! I’m calling myself out on this one, too. No one is safe from this SPF public service announcement.

I recently won a giveaway for Benton’s Mineral Sun Stick with SPF 50+ and PA++++ that requires an honest review and product demo. This skincare brand has been on my wishlist for a while because of its vegan and cruelty-free skincare solutions. As someone with sensitive skin, the gentle formulations always caught my eye.

I do want to note that this blog post was not part of the obligation. This blog post is being written because I wanted to keep track of my personal experience and help others find skincare products that can help with their skincare conditions. I tested this product for 2-3 weeks before coming up with my honest opinions down below.

This sun stick is PA++++, which is the highest level of UV protection in Korea. I personally like that this sun screen formula is supposed be safe from eye irritation and white cast so that it can be useful no matter the time or occasion.  Benton reported that this sun stick has a skin irritation of 0.04 and is safe for damaged skin barriers.

Perfect Product in a Little Package

Travel-Friendly Size

The packaging is very sturdy and perfectly sized for placing in your bag for on-the-go application and for reapplying. If you are lazy with sunscreen, this is perfect since it can work for 12+ hours. I love popping this bad boy in my purse or small tote bag so that I can reapply throughout the day. You can fit this sun stick inside the front pocket of your backpack. This means you can also put it in your gym bag, too.

Curved Shape

The product itself has a slight curve, making it perfect for applying on the face without missing any crevices. I noticed that this little bevel in the face stick can fit the high points of my face like my cheekbones and nose tip. You can also use the round edge of the stick to get into your nose area.

Skin-Like Finish

The formula is more on the stiff side, so you can rub it on your hand first to soften the product and prevent any tugging. My skin has a slightly velvety, buttery finish to it that can make me forget I applied sunscreen sometimes. It’s honestly really nice.

Barely Noticeable

The mineral sunscreen leaves a very slight white cast. Because of the hyaluronic acid, silica, and centella asiatica, my skin becomes less red and feels buttery smooth! I noticed that the formulation of this sunscreen is great for minimizing pores and mattifying oily areas. You can see in my Instagram reel below this mattifying effect if you want to see the results for yourself.

Fights Blemishes

I would say using this along with my usual skincare routine has been helpful with my blemishes. The sun stick’s formulation can make your skin look a little bit lighter, but it isn’t a white cast. It does minimize the appearance of my hyperpigmentation from previous breakouts.

The formula doesn’t go on heavily on my skin. I don’t recall seeing any prominent breakouts while using this formula. After every swipe, I just remember my skin looking moisturized and soothed. This is important to me because my skin can turn red very easily.

A Few Notes of Improvement

A Little Small, but That’s Okay

I would say that the product size is a little small for the price point. The sun stick is probably close to, if not slightly greater than, the height of a lipstick bullet. However, knowing that this sunscreen is effective for more than 12 hours makes this a justifiable purchase.

More of a Tone Up Sunscreen

Again there is a slight white cast with this formula since that is typical of mineral sunscreens. However, it is very minimal for my medium skin tone. I’m not too sure if this is more noticeable with darker skin tones, but I think the white cast will not be an issue with a little bit of rubbing in post-application.

Would I repurchase?

Yes! Again I think the 12+ hour protection and the ease of application justify the price point ($25 for 15 grams). I do have to test this with makeup, but I love this as someone who usually wears minimal makeup usually. Some days this sun stick is my “foundation” because it blurs my pores and has a mattifying effect while keeping my skin moisturized. I can’t wait to use this up and possibly repurchase it.

If you’ve been in a creative block with your makeup, maybe it’s time to try something new, right? I’ve been in the same boat with my makeup since most of my items are from pre-pandemic (don’t judge me). Life’s too short to not have fun with what you buy.

The other day I was scrolling through my social media and I stumbled upon the most unique and adorable makeup collaboration that I had seen in a while. Everybody, you have to see the cuteness that is Clio Cosmetics’s Koshort in Seoul makeup collaboration!

What is a “Koshort?”

If you’re unfamiliar with the term “Koshort,” it’s a cute abbreviation to the Korean shorthair breed. This cute little cat is known for its long fur, adorable big eyes, and its curious personality. These traits are what make the breed so popular among Koreans. Although their origin is not clear-cut, Korean shorthair cats have been around since the 8th century.

The Korean shorthair cats come in multiple colors, usually gray or orange, and are known for their distinct stripes. If you are allergic to these beautiful babies, then maybe you can settle with this cute makeup collection instead.

Koshort in Seoul Eyeshadows

What stopped me in my tracks to talk about this collection was their eyeshadow palettes. Sure, the shades are so nice and perfect for warm-toned, everyday looks. The main focal point that set them apart from other makeup palettes had to be the oh-so-adorable stickers.

Clio Cosmetics is marketing this as a unique customization experience for buyers since you can decorate your palette however you’d like! They did such an amazing job with the small details. For example, some of the eyeshadow shades have little paw print embossings on them. So it can look like you’re touching a cute cat paw if you apply the eyeshadow with your fingers.

The first palette that Clio Cosmetics released for this collection is called “Napping Cheese.” The inspiration for this palette comes from the fact that Koshorts can have a cheese scent. So, they’re basically like having a napping cheese buddy as a pet. Would you like to have a pet like that?

The stickers are probably what seal the deal because it has a cute kitty napping with cheese (because the palette is called “Napping Cheese”). I’m such a sucker for cute packaging and punny names, so take a look at the palette for yourself down below.

Clio Cosmetics also added another tier of exclusivity to persuade other makeup collectors and suckers for cute things like myself. Koshort Will Save My Skin, Too

The last part of the collection might be my favorite because it’s a customizable foundation cushion. The Koshort Kill Cover Founwear Cushion is SPF 50 and PA++++ so it can provide protection from UVA and UVB rays for longer periods of time compared to the usual sunscreens. As someone who doesn’t wear foundation much because of the lack of SPF, my eyes are set on purchasing this cushion to try out.

Like all other aspects of this collection, the Koshort inspo is seen with this product. You have cute food stickers but also an adorable set of cat pawprints on the cushion itself. There is also a cat paw-shaped foundation puff inside! Talk about ultimate attention to detail.

The foundation is available in three shades only, with the darkest being Ginger. If you have a fair to light-medium skin tone, this foundation can work out for you. Korean makeup usually has more lighter skin tones, so the shade range isn’t as wide as Western makeup brands.
