This serum has a unique packaging design. Not only is it sturdy enough to bring for traveling around, it is also reusable. Real Barrier also carries refills of this serum that you can pull out and replace. You can keep the exterior part of the packaging and the product will dispense product just fine. I also want to note that the pump of this serum packaging is really good. I was trying this out for my first impression video that is posted below, and the pump can make the serum almost fly out of the dispenser. It’s quite powerful so keep this in mind if applying the serum straight to your face.

Clear Gel

The product itself is a clear viscous liquid that is a mix of a gel and water. It has a sort of thickness to it, but spreads so well into my skin. There is very little scent to this product, so it doesn’t give you a headache. People who prefer unscented products will love this one for sure because it is very straightforward to just working well for our skin.

Dries with No Trace

Using this product was very nice! It reminded me of a hyaluronic acid serum due to its consistency. However, the product manages to seep well into my skin without leaving a tacky feeling like an HA serum.

The finish of this serum reminds me of aloe vera gel because it basically disappears on your skin. You can forget you applied this serum sometimes because your skin is left feeling super smooth. The no trace to this serum also means that it won’t affect your makeup if you’re thinking of using this in the morning.

Oh-So Perfect for the Summer

Another reason this skincare serum reminds me of aloe vera gel is because of the sensation. I find that this product does leave a cooling sensation, which is common for centella asiatica products. The wound-healing properties of the superstar ingredient make this a great solution for when you experience those dreaded sunburns. If you’re not prone to redness or stinging from sun exposure, you can also have fun using this to cool down. I put a lot on my arms while testing and loved the cool feeling especially in this heat!

Lightens Blemishes

I have seen a slight improvement with my blemishes since I use this mainly at night. They’re not as visible from afar and are also close to fading out. I can say that I have not experienced any breakouts while using the Real Barrier serum due to the antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties in the ingredient list.

In terms of redness (which is a usual occurrence for me), you can see a noticeable improvement because my face looks soothed and dewy after using the serum. This serum can alse be a good recommendation for after you exfoliate your skin so that it less dry and less irritated, which the combo for pimple formation.

Would I repurchase?

Yes! I really wish I had a product like this when I started my skincare journey since I had a disrupted skin barrier. The ingredient list is perfect if your skin is really dry and flaky. I would recommend this for hormonal acne since blemishes can be hard to get rid of for that.

Besties, I think I’m in loveeee with this one. I haven’t felt this way about makeup before because it merges skincare and makeup into one product. Yes, this might be the makeup product for the skincare-obsessed.

Urban Decay launched their newest baby, the Hydromaniac Dewy Liquid Blush, TODAY and I was fortunate enough to test out this product for the past few weeks from @influenster and @urbandecaycosmetics in exchange for my honest review. I am writing this blog post to document my experiences with various products so that others who are curious about these products feel confident in purchasing them for themselves. I am receiving no monetary compensation for writing this review.

A Juicy Blush Has Arrived

Urban Decay surprised me with the Hydromaniac Dewy Liquid Blush in the shade Unhinged (Berry Mauve). This liquid blush costs $22 USD at Sephora’s US website. The makeup brand describes this product as a liquid blush that is suitable for all skin tones and is buildable for a juicy, radiant glow. It is also formulated to be vegan and cruelty-free.

The blush is easy to blend, build, and apply with a small amount of product and any makeup tool of your choice. It is a small size to make it travel-friendly (specifically TSA-compliant), but mighty enough to provide a long-lasting flush to complete your makeup look.

This cheek tint gives you the glow and keeps your skin glowy thanks to its key ingredients:

• Kombucha Filtrate: Detoxifies and nourishes your skin. It contains vitamin C, which lightly exfoliates your skin and boosts collagen production to eliminate signs of aging.
• Marula Oil: Hydrates your skin and seals in moisture to protect it from environmental stressors and free radicals.

The packaging is so cute, sturdy, and hygienic. The packaging is made from plastic and is more compact so the blush is compliant with TSA guidelines. If you’ve ever been stopped by TSA to throw away any of your beloved cosmetics or skincare, you know how terrible it is to let go of something so precious. The fact that Urban Decay noted this TSA detail in their product description shows that the team is very considerate of their users’ needs and makeup habits. It really is meant to be your go-to blush.

Another cool detail about the packaging is the pointed plastic nozzle for squeezing out the blush. It reminds me of squeezing out paint for arts and crafts, but I think it is a smart touch for pinpointing application to smaller areas of your face or applying small dots of pigmented product. I have used this blush frequently and can still proudly say that my blush doesn’t look messy. The pointed nozzle keeps the watery blush from leaking out of the twist lid and making a mess.

Watery Texture

As the name says, this is a liquid blush. The blush has a thin, lightweight consistency that is kind of watery. It reminds me of really watery acrylic paint that is super pigmented.

For those wondering about the scent of this blush, there is no noticeable scent. There is no smell that I noticed from using the blush multiple times, but maybe it could change as I have this product around for longer in my makeup collection.

Flawless Makeup Now Feels Easier to Do

I was worried about this because I never used liquid blush or a mauve blush before, but I think Urban Decay converted me!

These babies are pigmented. Urban Decay was not joking when they said the liquid blushes were pigmented. One small dot of this blush on my hand created such a nice, natural, and rosy glow. Immediately, I saw myself using this for work because of how it looked so natural and berry pink on my medium skin tone.

I also tested how well this product is for building up the pigment, and this liquid blush also passed the test. In an instant, my natural flush swatch turned into a bold pop of mauve that worked so well with my olive undertones. You can see this for yourself in the video I made down below.

Enhances My Skin

Urban Decay and I never talked before about my makeup needs, but they seemed to know that I needed this product for my dry skin. This product works so, so well with my dry skin because I transform into a glowy goddess with plumpy pink cheeks. I love how it compliments my medium tan skin and enhances my skin.

Reading through this formulation also makes me think that this liquid blush can also work for mature skin since it can seep well into my skin and hide the appearance of fine lines due to the shine. Maybe this can also work for oily skin types, too! There’s plenty of skincare ingredients in here to make anyone’s skin look pretty, plump, and perfectly pink.

Longlasting Glow

I put this blush to the test by using it during my workout and during some pretty hot days. This liquid blush lasted me through the day and didn’t wear off on my sweatiest of days under the sun. By the end of the day, I could still see my natural flush of pigment and the glowiness of my skin. It was still noticeable after looking past the sweat I probably had by the end of the night.

Multifunctional Makeup

On Sephora, I noticed that some testers also put the liquid blush on their eyes and lips. I tried this for myself on my lips and eyes, and it looked very nice! The slight tackiness of the liquid blush can make it a possible eye primer for some shimmer shades. If you put this on your lips, you can seal it in by topping it off with some clear lip gloss for a MLBB (my lips but better) look.

If you feel that you overdid the blush, no worries. You can always dial the color down with foundation or concealer and it won’t feel cakey.

My Only Caveat

I would say there might be a minor area of concern when using the product.  Depending on your skincare prep or your makeup primer, you may notice a little bit of patchiness while applying this liquid primer. I tested this with my dry skin favorite primer, the Milk Makeup Hydro Primer, and my slightly tacky moisturizer and noticed some patchiness when applying this blush to my skin. The patchiness might be because of the primer or from applying it with a beauty sponge. I would recommend gently applying this liquid blush if using it after products that tend to pill on your skin or are too slippery.

Would I repurchase?

I was scared to try this, but omg I absolutely love it. I’m a straightforward makeup/ glowy or dewy skin person, and this worked so well for me. If you love no-effort makeup tools, dewy makeup, or are a lazy girl like myself, I think you’ll love it!

Urban Decay definitely convinced me to try incorporating more mauve into my beauty routine with this PR, so thank you again for giving me the blush shade I didn’t know I needed. It’s perfect!

Have you ever tried using a vitamin C derivative? 🍊If you remember my post a while back, I mentioned that I have been trying to get rid of my stubborn blemishes from hormonal acne. Pimples along my chin and jawline are usually the hardest for me to remove because it takes months sometimes for my blemishes to fade out. I used to use Vitamin C serums, but I took a step back because I didn’t enjoy it oxidizing quickly and didn’t notice any obvious difference.

I’ve been back on the Vitamin C serum lately and that’s all thanks to Korean skincare brand Dear, Klairs. They seemed have heard my prayers because I received the new Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum from @go.picky @pickyrewards and @klairs.global in exchange for my honest review! I used this product for two to three weeks in my skincare routines before coming up with my thoughts down below.

Wait, There’s an Alternative to Vitamin C?

Freshly Juiced Vitamin Charging Serum ($33.59 USD for 30 mL on Stylevana) is a Vitamin C derivative serum that gives you brighter, tighter, and bouncier skin. The derivative or alternative part of this product comes from 3-O- Ethyl Ascorbic Acid. This ingredient, unlike vitamin C, can be more stable while providing the same anti-aging effects of protecting your skin from UV damage and free radicals.

Unlike typical vitamin C serums, Dear, Klairs designed their Vitamin Charging Serum to be safe to use for daytime and nighttime so that your skin does go through any peeling or warmth flares. Your skin can be more sensitive during the day because of the high acidity levels in pure vitamin C serums. There is also supposed to be no iron-like scent or oiliness to this formula to make the serum pleasing to use and wear during the day.

Here are the ingredients that are in this serum to charge your skin for elasticity and juiciness:

Dear, Klairs, I Love This Vitamin C

Sleek and Shiny Packaging

I’m in love with the packaging of this serum. It is a sturdy plastic pump that easily dispenses the product without making a mess. I also love the use of the iridescent wrap on the label to carry out the idea of making your skin brighter so that your true beauty can shine Either that or because holographic packaging is always fun to look at.

The plastic pump also hides any sign of seeing the product to minimize potency loss. Vitamin C serums can go bad or become ineffective because of exposure to air and sunlight. Keep this tip in mind the next time you are on the lookout for vitamin C serums.

Hint of Citrus

I usually expect some sort of citrusy or sour smell with vitamin C serums. There is a very slight citrus scent, which is expected since there are lemon, mandarin orange, and grapefruit extracts. I did not find the smell overbearing during the application. It faded away once the serum dried on my skin.

Gel Consistency

The serum is a thicker consistency like a slightly runny gel formula because of ingredients like xanthan gum. It’s also a clear formula, so it blends very well into the skin. I like how lightweight the serum is because you can easily spread one to two drops of this on your damp skin (face and neck).

Smooth and Seamless

I love how after drying that I’m not left with any oily or sticky feeling. It reminds me of hyaluronic acid serums which feel slightly tacky after application but dries into a seamless finish. You would probably forget that you put this serum on because it is a breathable formula that dries well. The slight tackiness to the serum is intentional because it acts as a primer for your preceding moisturizer, sunscreen, and/or makeup. This serum is meant to last you through the day, and creates an even surface for other products to work well and give you a radiant look.

Noticeable Difference

I’ve been seeing great improvement in my blemishes and skin texture since using this product in my morning and nighttime skincare routines. My pesky blemishes have been getting lighter (due to niacinamide and beta-glucan) and smoother (due to niacinamide, glycerin, and panthenol). This serum leaves my skin looking nourished and naturally glowy.

I’ve had no irritation or breakouts from using this product. If you want products for redness, this is also great because of the centella asiatica in it! My dry skin is really eating this serum up and loves every drop of it.

Are There Any Cons?

Some people might want a Vitamin C that can last longer than 6 months after opening, but this is usual for Vit C serums to maintain their effectiveness. This is probably the only con I can think of. Other than that, the formulation is perfect for having the clear skin that you’ve been dreaming of.

Would I repurchase?

The price is high, but I would repurchase because the ingredient list is great. I do notice my blemishes improving and my skin looking more radiant and awake! This was my first time using Dear, Klairs, and was pleasantly surprised with this.

What is your favorite flower? I love sunflowers, but I also like pink roses since they’re my grandma’s favorite. What makes roses a popular flower of choice is not that it’s the flower of love, but it also has amazing anti-aging properties.💐

Recently, Korean skincare brand Heimish contacted me to try out their products in exchange for my honest review. I was so excited to see their rose skincare line from @heimish_uk because I never used the ingredient before. So, you know it was an obvious choice to finally try it for myself.

I used their Bulgarian Rose Satin Cream for 2-3 weeks in my day and nighttime skincare routine before coming up with the following opinions.

Why use Damask Rose Water?

Damask roses originate from the Middle East and have been well-loved for centuries for their beauty, fragrant aroma, and their skincare benefits. These flower species are often used for luxury perfumes when it calls for rose water because of their beautiful scent. Water has been known for being antibacterial (healing/preventing breakouts), its anti-inflammatory powers (soothing redness), and for toning (exfoliant).

Damask rose also contains antioxidants, vitamin C, and collagen, making it great for fighting off skin damage and maintaining youthful skin. Being out in the sun can speed up your skin’s aging process, so consider smelling the roses in your skincare, too.

What is Their Bulgarian Rose Satin Cream Supposed to Do?

Heimish’s Bulgarian Rose Satin Cream retails at $36 USD for 55 mL on their website. This cream acts as a perfect moisturizer for night and day and is meant to leave a satin-like finish. The combination of rose, flower AHA’s, and lactobionic acid make this moisturizer a must have if you love being low maintenance to stay looking high maintenance.

Not only can you use the satin cream as a moisturizer, you can also use it as a skin-protecting makeup primer to start your day on a high note. The cream is supposed to minimize the appearance and texture of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation so that you have a smooth surface. If you have dry and flaky skin, this product can be a great way to lightly exfoliate and let your true beauty bloom.

Here are some other skin-loving ingredients that make this product a possible solution for your skin:

Satin Smooth Skin

Satin Skin is Very Much a Thing

This not only makes my skin look bouncy and firm, but it also makes it prepped for wearing makeup. My skin looked so plump because the cream contains some mica (the source for all your glittery shine in your cosmetics). I would also consider this product as a tone-up cream because it lightly brightens my complexion, but it’s a slight hint that doesn’t seem unnatural.

Long-lasting Hold for Makeup

I tested this typically with my morning routine where I use my natural makeup essentials. The cream contains silica which is a common ingredient for primers, so I already knew the formula would smooth my skin texture. My makeup lasted well with this cream as a base and it lasted throughout the day. This works extraordinarily well with Heimish’s BB Creams that I had the chance to test out, as well.

Creamy, but Not Overbearing

This moisturizer reminded me so much of a L’Occitane rose hand cream that I had when I was younger. It had a pleasant smell of roses but had a creamy, thick consistency that could easily disperse into a light barrier to seal in your skin’s moisture. Now that I think of it, this cream reminds me of the L’Occitane cream because Heimish’s moisturizer contains shea butter.

Because of these comparisons to the hand cream I had used in the past, I can justify the price point. You don’t need a lot of product for your face. You can use a cherry-size amount of product to cover your face and neck without having white cast or breakouts.

Skin Improvement

My blemishes slightly lightened while using this product. Of course, my blemishes looked less visible while wearing the cream because of the use of mica and thickening ingredients that made my skin look radiant and smooth. After taking it off, the blemishes still looked slightly lightened due to the many antibacterial and gentle exfoliation ingredients. No breakouts occurred and my skin never looked irritated.

Cons

Scented Ingredients

This isn’t a con for me, but just a detail to know. This moisturizer by Heimish contains some scent due to the extracts in it like lavender extract and orange peel extract. Some sensitive skin types might not like this product if they use too much product because it could make them break out. To prevent this negative experience, I would say to go heavy with toners and serums beforehand and then apply this moisturizer while your skin is damp.

Some Patchiness Could Occur

Depending on your makeup or skincare regimen, Heimish’s satin cream can be iffy for you. I noticed that my foundation would not blend well with this cream as a primer. However, this product would be fine when using BB creams. I think using this product underneath makeup can be trial and error, but BB creams or skin tint serums could be perfect. High-coverage foundations probably aren’t compatible with this moisturizer. If you try to layer your foundation to build up coverage with this cream, patchiness could also be an issue, too.

Would I repurchase?

Yes to both! I really enjoyed the satin cream since I’ve never heard of a product like this. This can also be a “tone-up cream” since it can blend into different skin shades and leaves a nice, smoothing foundation for makeup. If you use light to medium-coverage face makeup products, using this cream will be a breeze for you.

I was one of the skincare reviewers selected to test out this product for 2-3 weeks in exchange for my honest review. Looking at this product for the first time, one question definitely came to mind: what exactly is bakuchiol?

Bakuchiol: Retinol’s Chill Sibling

There’s been a trend of people discovering and adding retinol to their skincare routine lately thanks to Tiktok and YouTube. It’s supposed to help improve your skin texture and reveal a younger you. We all want the best skin of our lives, but were you aware that retinol can come with side effects?

There are some reasons why people don’t add retinol to their skincare regimen. In my case, I am aware that dryness and flaky skin can be side effects of using retinol during the first few weeks. If you aren’t aware of my skincare journey, I started being more dedicated to skincare because my skin broke out into flaky, dry skin. I had a damaged skin barrier and it took almost two years for me to heal my skin to its healthy state. Other people may not like the ingredient because it can be sourced from eggs, livers, or fish. For example, tretinoin is a stronger form of retinol that typically is derived from animals, making the search for retinol products to be somewhat difficult.

If you want the results of retinol without worrying about the negatives, let me introduce you to retinal aka bakuchiol!

Bakuchiol is from the Psoralea corylifolia plant that has been a staple in Asian medicinal practices. This plant is not only great for our health but for stimulating collagen production in our skin. The ingredient is still being studied for its effectiveness in improving skin elasticity and improving wrinkle appearance, but research findings do show testers having improved skin quality over time. Bakuchiol is worth trying if you’re hesitant about the peeling and dryness that is a common side effect of retinol use.

A Better Eye Cream for a Better You

They even state that “we can never be perfect, but we can always become better versions of ourselves.” As someone who prefers more mild products to prevent breakouts and unexpected irritation, this product definitely caught my attention. Progress is always better than perfection. Nobody’s perfect (Hannah Montana pun definitely intended), and that is completely okay!

Currently, the Bakuchiol Eye Cream retails for $31.99 USD for 30 mL on their website. Using this eye cream consistently is supposed to help brighten dark circles and dull skin to balance out your skin tone. It is also supposed to help support your skin so that it looks healthier, more moisturized, and more elastic. The company recommends their eye cream for puffy eyes, wrinkles, dark circles, and dry skin. You can’t go wrong when a skincare product is cruelty-free, paraben-free, and skin-irritation tested.

To better understand why this eye cream may be effective for your skin’s needs, let’s dive deeper into some of the key ingredients:

The packaging is so sleek and sturdy. I especially love how it prioritizes hygiene by having a twist pump. I get worried when it comes to packing my skincare because of the possibility of spillage. With this product, you don’t have to worry about it at all. It really is more of an afterthought because of the sleek design.

Did I Mention There’s Liquid Gold?

The cream itself is a golden yellow gel that smells like lemon cookies! This lovely scent is because the product contains ingredients like fig, lavender, cocoa seed, orange peel, basil, centella asiatica. It was such a pleasant surprise, and with its packaging, it instantly made me think of spring in a bottle! The scent is so nostalgic to me because my favorite lemon cookies smell just like this eye cream, so yes, I might be a little biased on scent alone.

Blends in Easily

The yellowness of the cream actually is an advantage because I personally think it helps balance out the dullness or dark circles in my skin. On top of the subtle sheen finish because of the light lotion consistency, the color helps minimize the appearance of dark circles. My dark circles are not as prominent as other people, so I would love to know about the experience of people who deal with dull skin more frequently than I do.

The cream is easy to spread for your skin to absorb. I would use 1 pea-size pump of product on my under eyes and it would not leave a white cast, just a slightly tacky feeling. This tacky feeling makes it great for making sure your moisturizer, sunscreen, or makeup can stay on your skin.

If you’re not as in love with the scent of this product, no need to worry. The scent also fades away when dried.

Bye Breakouts, Hello Smoother Skin

My under-eye area has not broken out with milia (a usual problem with thick eye creams). The cream is very lightweight and leaves me looking refreshed. Again, one pump is all you need for the skin around your eyes. I’ve also been using a bit of this on my skin to prep for my usual moisturizer and it has left my face looking more radiant, soothed, and smooth.

Since my skin is usually very dry in the winter, I can say that my skin looked soothed and nourished while using this product. I did look more awake after using this product for a few weeks and my blemishes did fade away when using this product on them.

What’s Not to Like?

Not a con for me, but this product can have a strong scent for some people. This cream does contain lavender oil, palm oil, and olive fruit oil. Some people might want to avoid these ingredients, so I do want to state this here.

Would I repurchase?

Yes! The price-to-product ratio is pretty worth it and the formula is nice. I can see myself using the cream for more than 4 months with the 1 pump minimum for my under eyes, so I find it to be a reasonable purchase once I run out. This is my first time trying retinol and trying VVBetter and I loved it! I would say it was love at first sight and definitely persuaded me to consider trying out more of their skincare line in the future.

A Perfect Addition for an Aesthetic Routine

The frosted matte packaging is so cute and elegant. The bottle is made from sturdy plastic and is lightweight. Because of the packaging design having a plastic focus, I think this can actually be great for traveling. The cap does twist, so I would recommend taping it or putting it in a ziplock bag for travel.

Easy and Carefree Experience

The serum is transparent and thin, like water. It does leave your skin with an unmistakable glow thanks to the orange extract and fermented black tea and with a slightly sticky texture. It was easy to spread around on my face and neck area.

Due to the slight tackiness post-application, I think this would be a great addition to a morning skincare routine. By using it in the morning, moisturizers and makeup primers would be easier to apply. There was a slight orange scent since orange water is the second most ingredient in the product list. However, the scent does fade once the product dries on your skin.

Using the product was very easy. Personally, I would put 3-4 drops of the product on my hands to pat onto wet skin. I think the consistency of the product can be good to soak onto cotton pads and leave them on your face for 10-20 minutes as a sheet mask or toner pad.

Sensitive Skin Approved

There is no noticeable scent with this product and it is gentle on my skin, which is great since it is sensitive skin tested. It did not break me out.

The formulation being sensitive-skin-friendly also would make this product great if you are dealing with a damaged skin barrier that is in need of moisture. Since the exfoliating ingredients of PHA’s are in low doses compared to other stronger, more potent, exfoliating serums, this is a great introduction to exfoliation.

A Slow Process, but Noticeable Improvement

I have been using this for the past 2 weeks and have noticed my blemishes being less prominent. This is a great light exfoliator for evening skin tone and making your skin more radiant. I thoroughly enjoyed using the product because it left my skin looking super dewy and plump. That’s all I could simply want for my dry skin.

Were There Any Cons to Trying HaruHaru Wonder’s Exfoliating Serum?

There were no cons to using the HaruHaru Wonder serum since it did not sting or irritate my skin. It’s very friendly to even the most sensitive of skin types.

I think someone would not enjoy this product if they are expecting to see a dramatic difference overnight. However, those products are not friendly for skincare newbies or people with sensitive skin. Since this is a leave-in exfoliating treatment that has a gentler ingredient list, this makes it easier to prevent skincare mishaps. Stronger exfoliating products may require you to go heavy with moisturizing skincare or with SPF since your skin can end up very sensitive to UV rays. HaruHaru Wonder’s serum clearly considers this niche market in this product.

Would I repurchase?

Yes! This was my first time trying @haruharuwonder_official thanks to @go.picky and @pickyrewards and I was pleasantly surprised with this one! I’ll definitely be putting this on my skincare wishlist for when I run out. My breakouts have been less frequent or obvious lately, so products like these are great to have.

My Dry, Acne-Prone Skin Story

It wasn’t until last year where my skin suffered big-time with acne. With major life and diet changes, your body will get the best of you and change up your skin for the worst. College isn’t only the culprit of the dreaded Freshman 15, it’s also the culprit of no-good acne for some.

I would most commonly get cystic acne popping up around my jawline and my cheekbones.

College was when my skin went from clear and smooth to dry, flaky, and severely acne-prone. I would most commonly get cystic acne popping up around my jawline and my cheekbones. Going from clear skin to insanely flaky and pimply skin was a huge shocker (to say the least).

My skin became so bad that I would get asked by relatives “What happened to your face?” I would even get a couple awkward glances from strangers while working out at the gym. Having a severe acne outbreak really made me insecure and stressed!

Since there are not many videos or articles you can find on the Internet that tackle dry, acne-prone skin, I am here to help! My skincare journey towards returning to clear skin took probably 10-12 months. No one else should suffer that long.

After lots of experimenting and research, here are just some staple skincare products that did WONDERS for my skin within 4 months.

10. A moisturizing Micellar Water Makeup Remover for the cleanest face of your life!

Whether you’re caked in makeup or going au naturelle, a powerful skin care routine always starts with how you are removing all that buildup and pollutants. If your makeup remover doesn’t do its job well, then how the heck will your other skin care products work?

What’s so great about micellar water? Can’t any makeup remover work just fine?

Everyone’s skin is different and not all products are suitable for all types of skin. It usually takes me 1-2 makeup wipes to get rid of dirt and makeup on my face. By the end of it, my face is stinging and looks cherry tomato red. That is never a good sign for sensitive skin!

On the other hand, micellar water manages to clean and tone your skin while removing makeup and buildup. It manages to keep my skin moisturized because of glycerin and hyaluronic acid, which are well-known to help retain skin’s moisture levels.

Have you considered swapping out your makeup wipes? Sometimes, a cleanser and some makeup wipes just aren’t enough to make sure you get rid of makeup, dirt, and dust. Makeup wipes are great to carry every once in a while, but they can be so abrasive on your skin … especially if you have sensitive skin or a damaged skin barrier.

I didn’t know the hard truth about cleansing my face until when I started college. Makeup wipes were my religion, and I could not go a day without using it at night. The problem? Easy to Use

The oil made even the hardest makeup a breeze to remove. In fact, rubbing the product in kind of felt like I was giving myself a facial massage since my hands became so slippery. The sherbet would go from an opaque white to a clear oil on my skin. Once it comes into contact with water, the product turns into a milky liquid that takes away all the gunk from your face.

Non-Irritating Formula

The product is great for all skin types. When my skin was suffering from dryness and frequent breakouts, the cleansing balm was a great, soothing product for my routine. Unlike makeup wipes or cotton pads, my skin felt baby skin soft after washing. There was no stinging sensation either. In fact, my skin looked and felt healthier because it would take out my flaky skin and reveal a smoother surface. At a time when I was struggling with my damaged skin barrier, this product was a huge relief and made me feel like myself again.

The Bad Parts

Did I scare you with the subheader? There’s no cons for me.

Honestly, in terms of the formulation, there was no bad part. My skin did not break out from using this product. It made it easier to double cleanse and ensure that my other skincare products were being absorbed into my skin.

In terms of the process of washing my face, it’s normal for it to be a little messy. If you hate having to wash your face so often, maybe you wouldn’t like this product since water can go everywhere. Some people also don’t want to scoop their makeup remover all the time, so that is a valid complaint if you’re not interested in this item.

Is This Worth the Hype?

Yes, for sure! I completely understand why this product has been well-loved. Even though I first tried this product in 2019, I still keep repurchasing it because it works!

To this day, this balm is the first product I use in my nighttime routine whenever I wear makeup. I recommend using this before using a micellar water makeup remover for dry skin people to prevent harsh tugging, especially around the eyes.
